Nichola qualified as a dentist from University College, London in 1990. After gaining a fellowship in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of England, she then embarked on specialist postgraduate Orthodontic training at the Eastman Dental Hospital in London. She qualified in 1998 gaining a membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

Nichola completed further training in Yorkshire, accrediting as a Consultant Orthodontist in 2001. She was appointed Locum Consultant at the Mayday Hospital, Croydon, while also working in a Specialist Orthodontic practice in Central London.

She is a current member of the British Orthodontic Society and has published papers in professional and scientific journals.
