Maria qualified in Dentistry from Liverpool University in 1995 and worked in both Hospital and General Practice for 7 years. After gaining a fellowship in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, she then returned to Liverpool to complete her postgraduate training in Orthodontics.

Maria is a current member of the British Orthodontic Society and Local Engagement Committee for Orthodontics in Cheshire. She has published papers in professional and scientific journals.
